Accommodations

The Lodge easily accommodates 65 overnight guests and operates primarily on the American plan featuring three delicious buffet style meals each day. All of the 29 guest rooms offer double occupancy and nearly all are private baths. All linens are furnished and maid service is provided. Each guest room is individually climate controlled for your comfort.

The William Black Lodge is proud to be a smoke-free facility.

Operating from January through mid-November, advance reservations are required.

All rates are stated as Per Person/Per Day, NC Sales Tax applies. Rates and arrangements are subject to change.

A confirmed reservation will require a $50 deposit.
 To reserve the entire lodge for your event a $1,000 deposit is required.
Non-resident rental of the William Henry Belk Chapel/Conference Center is $150 a day.

WILLIAM BLACK LODGE POLICIES
Check-in Procedure:
Check-in for conferences and retreats begins at 3:00 p.m. and extends until 6:00 p.m. Special arrangements for either early check-in or late arrivals must be made by calling the office. Please call 1-828-669-6314 or 1-888-644-8744 to set up these special needs.

Check-Out Procedure:
Check-out is at 10:30 a.m. the morning of your departure. Should you need to stay beyond our standard check-out time, special arrangements need to be made in advance with the office.

Reservation/Payment Procedure:
To confirm a reservation with the William Black Lodge, a $50 room deposit is required or $1,000 if you wish to reserve the entire lodge for your group. The deposit must be received 10 days from the time of booking the required rooms. Please note that a confirmed reservation will not be possible without the appropriate deposit. A rooming list will be required no later than 14 days prior to your group's arrival.

Cancellation Policy:
Conference or retreat group cancellations must be made in writing or fax no less than sixty (60) days in advance in order to qualify for a 50% refund of the deposit fee. Cancellations made less than 60 days in advance will not be eligible for a refund, however, if you need to change your booking dates, the deposit will be applied to the new reservation dates up to 12 months.

No refunds for adjustments to rooms or meals will be made 14 days prior to your arrival date.

Inclement Weather Policy:
Should the North Carolina State Highway Patrol office deem road conditions dangerous for travel, we will work with your group to reschedule within a 12 month period. All deposits made will be applied to any future reservation.


The W.H. Belk Conference and Worship Center

The Chapel, as it is familiarly called, has a seating capacity of approximately 75-85 guests. With it's hardwood, parquet floors, the chapel is a very versatile setting for many types of meetings and functions. The six stained glass windows add a touch of warmth, coziness, and serenity to the space which invites reflection and meditation.

Outside the chapel area is a small kitchenette for your convenience.


The Cottage

Also available to guests is the small rustic cottage up the mountain behind the lodge. The upper cottage has a small kitchenette and two bedrooms with an adjoining bathroom and can sleep up to 6 people. The lower level of the cottage, consisting of one bedroom and a bathroom, sleeps two.


Dining Room

The dining room seats up to 65 people comfortably serving three meals a day buffet style. All food is prepared in-house by the wonderful and talented kitchen staff. Special needs and requests can usually be accommodated given advance notice.
