OUR FACILITIES
The Lodge can accommodate 64 overnight guests and has a dinning room capacity of 66. It operates on the American plan featuring three delicious buffet style meals each day.
The Lodge offers double occupany bedrooms with private or hall baths. Single occupancy bedrooms are also available. Linens are furnished and maid service is provided.
The entire facility is smoke free and is heated and air-conditioned. No pets are allowed.
The Lodge season is January through mid-November. Reservations are required.
All rates are stated as Per Person/Per Day, NC Sales Tax applies. Rates and arrangements are subject to change.
American Plan - Daily Rates include three meals per day.

WILLIAM BLACK LODGE POLICIES
Check-in Procedure:
Check-in for conferences and retreats begin at 3:00 p.m. and extends until 6:00 p.m. Special arrangements for either early check-in or late arrivals must be made by calling the office. Please call 1-828-669-6314 or 1-888-644-8744 to set up these special needs.
Check-Out Procedure:
Check-out is at 10:30 a.m. the morning of your departure. Should you need to stay beyond our standard check out time, special arrangements need to be made in advance with the office.
Reservation/Payment Procedure:
To confirm a reservation with the William Black Lodge, a $50 room deposit is required or $1,000 if you wish to reserve the entire lodge for your group. The deposit must be received 10 days from the time of booking the required rooms. Please note that a confirmed reservation will not be possible without the appropriate deposit. A rooming list will be required no later than 14 days prior to your group’s arrival.
Cancellation Policy:
Conference or retreat group cancellations must be made in writing or fax no less than sixty (60) days in advance in order to qualify for a 50% refund of the deposit fee. Cancellations made less than 60 days in advance will not be eligible for a refund, however, if you need to change your booking dates, the deposit will be applied to the new reservation dates up to 12 months.
No refunds for adjustments to rooms or meals will be made 14 days prior to your arrival date.
Inclement Weather Policy:
Should the North Carolina State Highway Patrol office deem road conditions too dangerous for travel, we will work with your group to reschedule within a 12 month period. All deposits made will be applied to any future reservation.
A Minimum of 60 days cancellation notice is required for retreat groups. Youth conference deposits are nonrefundable.
The Lodge accepts credit/debit cards, cash and or personal checks are accepted.

Go rock-hopping in an icey stream or hiking in the wilderness! Paddle boat or canoe on Lake Susan! Shop, dine, or just kick back and relax. Montreat Conference Center offers recreational opportunities and activities for everyone, including traveling companions and spouses who are not conference participants.

Hiking & Walking Trails
Miles of scenic trails criss-cross 2,500 acres of permanently protected Montreat wilderness. Maps are provided for hiking on your own, or participate in public hikes led by members of the Montreat Trail Club or the Wilderness Ranger staff.
